With an education in Photojournalism and a family background in portrait photography, I have been shooting professionally for more than 20 years.
I've been drawn to photography since I was a little girl. My parents were photographers and owned a portrait studio for over 30 years in Conrad, Montana.
When I was little, I loved working in the darkroom with my dad. It was there that my love for photography and music was born. We would listen to Pink Floyd, Santana, Neil Young and The Talking Heads as we printed. I absolutely fell in love with the process when I was about five or six years old. As a kid, it seemed like magic to watch an image emerge in the tray of developer and I knew then that I wanted to be a photographer.
Almost 18 years later, I received a BA in Photojournalism with a minor in Spanish from the University of Montana. I was lucky enough to study abroad in Spain and do an internship shooting for The Missoulian.
Shortly after, I moved to Portland, Oregon by myself with no job and only what I could fit in my Toyota Corolla. I built a successful photography business in Portland and spent 15 years there. My husband and I moved back to Montana in 2018 and welcomed a baby girl in 2020.
As a Montana native and a University of Montana alum, I'm so grateful to be back in Missoula, enjoying life with my husband and our beautiful three year old daughter.
